Tideway and Concorde Join Forces to Provide Software Asset Management in the Data
The Data Center discovery, dependency mapping and automation specialists Tideway have announced a strategic partnership with UK based software asset management specialists Concorde Solutions.
The two companies have joined forces to provide an “automated audit of the software” by comparing Tideway’s ‘Foundation’ IT infrastructure data with Concorde’s managed service.
Tideway and Concorde claim “The joint solution will help customers ensure effective software asset management, mitigate risk through on-going license compliance and identify areas for significant cost savings in their data centers.”
Licensing on the desktop usually takes the limelight with software compliance due to the ratio of desktops and laptops versus servers in the average organisation but companies could be at greater financial risk with software compliance risk in the data center. Oracle, IBM, Microsoft SQL and VMware licensing on servers is particularly tricky whilst Vendors battle with each other to be competitive and flexible in virtualized environments creating thousands of license options and variations.
Peter Grant, VP EMEA Sales at Tideway stated “Analyst firms now estimate that software license audits are up by 35% in the last 12 months, as large vendors attempt to squeeze more from their existing customer base to generate revenue,”
