Provance introduces new IT Asset Management solution for Microsoft System Center

Provance Technologies today
announced the release of Provance 4.1, a new version of the company’s IT Asset
Management solution optimized for use with Microsoft System Center
Configuration Manager 2007. Provance 4.1 complements and extends System Center
Configuration Manager 2007 with end-to-end life cycle management of IT assets
that allows customers to take control of IT costs.
“System Center Configuration Manager 2007 provides a comprehensive
management solution to assess, deploy, and update IT infrastructure from
desktops to datacenter environments,” said Robert Reynolds, director of System
Center product management at Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to see Provance
incorporate the asset life cycle management and license compliance
capabilities of Provance 4.1 with System Center Configuration Manager 2007 to
bring its domain expertise in IT asset management to our mutual customers.”
“Combining Provance and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
2007 is a natural pairing of two highly regarded solutions that together
deliver customer value exceeding the sum of the individual parts,” said Gilles
Lalonde, CEO and President of Provance. “Working with Microsoft allows us to
provide our mutual customers with a powerful solution that helps drive down IT
costs, increase service management efficiency, and reduce security and
compliance risks.”
The new version 4.1 release of the Provance IT Asset Management solution
features compatibility with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007
that allows customers to improve financial management of IT assets. Provance
associates financial details about assets, such as contracts, licenses,
maintenance and support agreements, leases, and vendor data, with hardware and
software inventory information from System Center Configuration Manager. This
enables cost-effective management of IT assets through their complete life
cycle and ensures compliance with software license agreements. Provance
workflow processes for the approval and fulfillment of IT service requests
also integrate with System Center Configuration Manager for automated software
distribution and software updates.
