Ch-ch-changes: Microsoft Licensing Updates
We all know Microsoft licensing changes regularly – and that’s been especially true these last few weeks. Our resident Microsoft Licensing Expert Rich Gibbons is keeping abreast of the latest Microsoft licensing updates in order to be prepared for our next course taking place in Sydney, Australia next month:
“We ran a London Microsoft licensing training session in June this year and then again in early September – there were a number of differences between those two sessions!
We then delivered the course in Florida later in the same month, and it just so happened to be the same week as Microsoft’s Ignite conference, where they made a number of announcements. This led to our resident Microsoft geek/trainer Rich Gibbons editing and adding a bunch of slides the just the day before in order to ensure the training session was bang up to date.
That was September 26th…and more things have changed since then!
Over the last few weeks we’ve seen changes, updates and new releases relating to a range of products including:
- SQL Server
- Visio
- Skype for Business Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Office 365
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Azure
We’ve got:
- New product versions with SQL Server 2017 now available – furthering Microsoft’s embrace of Linux
- Changes to the way that Visio is licensed for Office 365
- New information on how Microsoft’s online services such as Skype for Business and Teams interact
- A host of updated product names for Online Services
- New products to help you expand productivity within your organisation
- New Azure offerings to enhance your security in the Cloud
- New ways to save money when implementing a Hybrid approach”
Our training includes all this, plus a whole lot more so if you want to ensure you’re as up to date as possible – come and join us in Sydney on November 21st ← We’ll include any changes between now and then too!
Because we like our training to be as interactive as possible, there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss things with Rich, and your fellow attendees. It’s not just a day of learning the licensing rules – we’ll also be looking at how these can impact your SAM processes, things you should look out for, ways in which you can increase savings and help drive business transformation and make SAM a key area within your business and sometimes just what exactly some of these products do!
