ITAM standards group seeks input to build implementation guidance
The voluntary group that creates the 19770 family of standards is developing guidance for implementing ITAM.
The group seeks feedback from anyone working in the IT Asset Management field to share their views on the sort of guidance the industry needs.
In particular, the group would like to hear from those not involved with standards.

David Bicket, commenting on the project, said:
“19770-10 is ‘Guidance for Implementing ITAM’. It is meant to be practical guidance, with an ISO label, to getting ITAM going in your organization. 19770-10 will be focused on implementing ITAM processes, e.g. implementing or improving the ITAM function in an organization”
A lack of implementation guidance is often cited as an impediment to market uptake of 19770. Speaking of the target audience for the implementation guidance, David said:
“It is intended to be highly usable, driven by what the market really wants (to be determined by the survey), rather than by individuals already heavily involved in standards work.”
Please share your feedback on what implementation guidance would be most useful for 19770.
