Thursday 28 July 2022

About this event

Oracle and Microsoft are critical vendors for almost all organisations – with one or both of them featuring heavily in terms of software infrastructure and software spend.

Join Rich Gibbons and AJ Witt from the ITAM Review as we discuss Oracle & Microsoft: Financial year-end analysis on Thursday 28th July  at 14:00.

We will examine how both of these Tier 1 vendors have fared through their most recent financial year and what to expect from them in the next – including audits, product focus areas, cloud, licensing, and more. The aim of the session is to provide an overview of the last financial year and arm you with key information you can use to help you in upcoming conversations and dealings with Oracle and Microsoft.

Knowing where these vendors are coming from, and where they are heading, will help you as ITAM managers better understand any risks and successfully manage the relationship for another year.

ITAM Review analysts will look at the vendors financial results and what they might reveal about their roadmap, and how they may impact renewals and contracts moving forward.

The agenda will include:

  • Microsoft FY22 review – including financial results analysis
    • Microsoft – the year ahead
  • Oracle FY22 review – including financial results analysis
    • Oracle – the year ahead
  • Partner sessions
  • Q&A

Session TitleThe Enabler, how ITAM is foundational to making strategic business decisions

Description: Every company is a technology company.  Whether you build it or buy it, your organization relies on technology to survive.  In this session we will discuss how ITAM 2.0 is the necessary foundation for organizational growth and innovation.

Dan Whitefield, Customer Success Manager, Certero

With years of experience as a SAM Consultant, my ‘raison d’être’ has been to provide effective advice to businesses to help them navigate and avoid the many pitfalls that can occur with software licensing and to identify the license optimization opportunities.

Since joining Certero, I have transitioned across from being a SAM services consultant to the role of Customer Success Manager, working closely with existing customers and dedicated to helping them leverage more value, insight and understanding from their Certero unified platform technology and across a full enterprise scope – from desktop and remote users, to datacenter, mobile, SaaS and Cloud.

Session Title: Designing the perfect cocktail; Executing a Total Microsoft Licensing Strategy across on-prem, SaaS & cloud

Description: Protecting your spend with Microsoft now requires a total vendor licensing strategy that spans on-premises and remote assets, SaaS and Cloud. Therefore, it’s a bigger picture problem than traditional ITAM / SAM and it’s a bigger-picture problem than just Finops. In this presentation, Microsoft licensing expert Dan Whitefield explains how to remove the barriers and disconnect between the old and new worlds of asset management, in order to define, optimise and execute your total licensing strategy for Microsoft.
