Free: The ITAM Review Cloud Summit 2022

  • Thursday 27th October 2022

Join Rich Gibbons and AJ Witt from The ITAM Review on Thursday 27th October 2022 for the 3rd annual ITAM Review Cloud Summit.

Thursday 27 October 2022

About this event

The business adoption of cloud continues to increase – organisations are spending more money on more services in more clouds and show no signs of slowing down.

The growth of cloud presents several opportunities for ITAM to become more aligned with, and integral to, your organization’s goals and priorities. If managed correctly, increased spend on SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS can lead to increased importance and stature for ITAM.

However, to do this, ITAM professionals must embrace the cloud and identify:

  • How you can add value
  • Who this is important to
  • When and where you can show impact

And effectively communicate, and demonstrate, the benefits that ITAM provides.

Although not a new subject, cloud technology is constantly changing and evolving – meaning ITAM professionals must ensure that they are aware of new risks and opportunities. The level of wasted spend in the public cloud remains high while the occurrence of security breaches is increasing, meaning cloud remains at the top of CIO priority lists.

Join Rich Gibbons and AJ Witt from The ITAM Review on Thursday 27th October 2022 at 2pm GMT for the 3rd annual ITAM Review Cloud Summit, which aims to highlight the latest trends, tools, and tricks to help ITAM managers successfully navigate the journey to the cloud.

Topics on the day will include:

  • SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS
  • Cloud cost management
  • ITAM + FinOps
  • Bring Your Own Licensing (BYOL)
  • Cloud vendor market & strategies
  • How to inventory the cloud & containers
  • How ITAM boosts security in the cloud
  • Emerging cloud technologies
  • Cloud and sustainability
  • Stakeholder engagement & cross-functional working

We welcome suggestions, questions, and speaking proposals from ITAM professionals around the globe – please get in touch here.

Speakers

Rich Gibbons, ITAM Services Director, The ITAM Review

Rich has almost 15 years’ experience in the world of IT and software licensing, having been both a software sales manager for a VAR and a Microsoft licensing endorsed trainer.

A Northerner renowned for his shirts, Rich is a fan of most films, Hip-Hop, travel, football in general (and specifically MUFC), Marvel and reading as many books as possible. Finding ways to combine these with software licensing is always fun.

AJ Witt, ITAM Industry Analyst, The ITAM Review

AJ Witt is ITAM Industry Analyst at The ITAM Review. Previous to joining the ITAM Review team in April 2018, he was Software Asset Manager for Carnival UK, operators of the P&O & Cunard cruise lines. Coming from a background in IT Infrastructure technical operations IT Security & Compliance, AJ is well-placed to share his experience of how dynamic SAM teams can build mutually-beneficial stakeholder engagement.

Dan Whitefield, Customer Success Manager, Certero

With years of experience as a SAM Consultant, my ‘raison d’être’ has been to provide effective advice to businesses to help them navigate and avoid the many pitfalls that can occur with software licensing and to identify the license optimization opportunities.

Since joining Certero, I have transitioned across from being a SAM services consultant to the role of Customer Success Manager, working closely with existing customers and dedicated to helping them leverage more value, insight and understanding from their Certero unified platform technology and across a full enterprise scope – from desktop and remote users, to datacenter, mobile, SaaS and Cloud.

Session Title: BYOL: How Cloud Interoperability is driving the need for mature cloud financial management

Description: Certero Cloud guru, Dan Whitefield, explains how interoperability across platforms, exemplified by the partnership between Oracle and Microsoft Azure, and recent changes to BYOL rules exacerbate the need for greater management of cloud assets and more mature cloud financial management strategies.
