VUG Interview: Jeff Ferguson on ITAM and ERP Integration

Jeff Ferguson

I plan to publish an interview with an ITAM Review Virtual User Group member once a month (assuming we have enough volunteers!).

In this first interview I ask Jeff Ferguson, an ITAM and Technical Procurement Professional in the USA about his experiences with a project to integrate ITAM and ERP.

Jeff shares his lessons learnt and offers advice to ITAM’s taking on similar projects.

“As the company grew its technology footprint rapidly, savvy senior management leaders started asking questions about the assets we already owned instead as an alternative to investing capital into new assets.

Many times IT departments did not have answers to tough questions about large investments for which they were requesting approvals. This led to our project to integrate the ERP and ITAM systems. We started effectively tracking our assets through the Procure-To-Pay cycle as well as the Cradle-to-Grave cycle.”
