ManageSoft Adds SKU Library for License Management

These SKU numbers are imported from customer purchase order data into ECM, which automatically infers one or more software applications and license use conditions. The ECM software reconciles software installed in an enterprise against purchase data and license terms to determine license compliance.” said Alan Swahn at Managesoft.

Linking purchasing information and license inventory via a SKU allows for automation of license management. It aligns what a company might have bought to what is found installed on the network. This is usually a manually intensive task since their is usually a large degree of variance between executables and files found on the network compared to descriptions found on invoices from suppliers.
