Get Exclusive Access to Ideal Asset Data Model Guidelines

ITAM-Data-Models

Do you think you might be tracking too many fields in your ITAM process? or the wrong fields? you are certainly not alone.

A poll conducted by the IEC in August found that a staggering 82% of Council members are creating or revising their asset management data models. Most organisations have data models that are too complex to realistically keep up-to-date, or are not specific enough to fulfil any strategic value for the organisation.

As part of my ongoing work with the Infrastructure Executive Council (IEC) – readers of The ITAM Review can gain exclusive access to IEC premium content.

To help organizations create the ideal data model for asset management, the Council is developing an “Asset Management Data Model Reference Guide.” This guide will assist organizations with the selection of the right data model (which assets and fields to track).

Help guide the creation of this reference guide: Participate in the Asset Management Data Model survey and you will get exclusive access to the results, typically reserved only for Council members.

The survey key findings will examine questions such as:

  • What asset data fields are the most critical to track and keep up-to-date and which commonly tracked fields are not valuable?
  • Where does it pay to automate data collection?
  • What is the right number of fields to track for each asset?

Please note the survey closes on 30th September, this is a unique opportunity to gain insight into your ITAM processes by the IEC.
