New Software Compliance Manager From Computer Associates

CA are planning 8 new and updated Compliance and Risk modules to their Enterprise IT Management portfolio. Of particular interest is their new ‘Software Compliance Manager’ which will allow organisations to manage the risks associated with software assets. This module is aligned to their IT Asset Management and Service Desk offerings, recently rated ‘Strong Positive’ by Gartner.

CA have also plan to release a ‘Inventory Integration Module’, so that the Compliance Manager can take inventory feeds from other tools. This appears to be a smart move since CA Inventory and Asset Management is not widely known as a solution for license compliance.

The final point of interest in this news, besides the words “future addition” (We havn’t integrated it yet?) and “planned features” (we havn’t written it yet?) is the refreshing news that CA have coded the “Software Compliance Manager” from the ground upwards, from a vendor famous for growth by acquisition.
