Oracle to Review Inventory Tools
Oracle deployments tend to slip through the net of most traditional ITAM tools.
With no license keys to track and sometimes no executables to discover, reconciling Oracle is commonly a separate project outside of most ‘desktop’ inventory processes.

Some ITAM Tool Vendors claim to discover instance of Oracle whilst others claim to recognise and manage licenses – but which ones really work and whose audit results will be recognised by Oracle for the purposes of an audit?
I spoke with Christina Crowley, VP Global License Management Services at Oracle, who confirmed that Oracle are currently working with some tool vendors to gain an understanding of what data the tools provide.
“The aim is give customers a choice in using additional tools as part of the Oracle license review process. The tools will not replace the audit, but will be used to support the data provided.”
