What happened in ITAM news in June 2022? Glad you asked… Here’s our roundup of ITAM news stories from June 2022 which weren’t quite big enough to warrant their own articles, but we think are still worth knowing about.

 

IBM pays BMC $1.6 billion for “stealing” customer

Ouch. IBM has been ordered to pay BMC $1.6 Billion for poaching an AT&T account. The judge in the case said IBM’s behaviour ‘smacked of intentional wrongdoing.’ For their part, IBM claims the verdict is unsupported by fact and law, and intends to appeal. This is one to keep an eye on.

Snow partners with Anodot around FinOps 

New partnership with help organizations “solve the urgent challenge of managing rapidly growing and increasingly complex cloud costs.”

Snow and Anodot claim the partnership will bridge the disciplines of ITAM and FinOps in order to address evolving issues associated with cloud cost management. The two companies are committing significant go-to-market and research & development investments, leveraging their respective technologies – Snow Atlas and Anodot Cost – to address this market challenge.

Oracle announces Fiscal Year 2022 results: Revenue up 5% year-on-year

Oracle exceeded analyst estimates in its Q4 and end-of-year financial results, which were announced on 13th June. Revenue increased 5% from a year earlier, largely driven by growth in the company’s cloud business. Oracle shares rose almost 9% as a result.
