A poll conducted by the IEC in August found that a staggering 82% of Council members are creating or revising their asset management data models. Most organisations have data models that are too complex to realistically keep up-to-date, or are not specific enough to fulfil any strategic value for the organisation.

To help organizations create the ideal data model for asset management, the Council is developing an “Asset Management Data Model Reference Guide.” This guide will assist organizations with the selection of the right data model (which assets and fields to track).
